And the health benefits of these foods can help you lead a stronger and fuller life as well. So including them in you daily diet has more than one advantage.

Strawberries are known for their aphrodisiac properties since times immemorial. And this fact has be proven scientifically too. They contain large amounts of vitamin C and antioxidants that are known to improve sperm count and also improve sex drive.

Strawberries can be paired with dark chocolate, another aphrodisiac, for wonderful results, gastronomically and sensually.

This is also one of the most commonly known aphrodisiac foods. But it is best to stick to dark chocolate, which has a higher cocoa content. Milk chocolate can have a lot of sugar in it and it adds to the empty calories one consumes in the day. The theobromine that chocolate contains creates a ‘feel good’ effect on the mind, largely through the release of endorphins. This mimics a falling in love feeling and boosts libido naturally.

Moreover, chocolate is full of antioxidants that help maintain good health.

Just like chocolates and strawberries, oysters are well known aphrodisiacs. They have been used for this purpose for centuries. Oysters are rich in zinc, which is essential for the synthesis of sex hormones and clitoral sensitivity. Raw oysters are more effective than the coked kind.

But you have to be very careful when dealing with raw seafood as it can contain parasites and other harmful agents. Thus, consume oysters raw only if you are sure of their origin. Otherwise, cooking them through is your best bet. And even then, it is advisable to procure them from a reliable source.

Almonds and nuts

Almonds are rich in essential omega fatty acids, selenium, vitamin E and other fatty acids. The scent of almonds is also known to act as an aphrodisiac, especially for women. So crushing the almonds before adding them to food is also a good idea.

Other nuts such as cashews, walnuts and pine nuts contain essential fatty acids too and work well to improve sex drive.

Avocados are fruits that are rich folic acid and other B complex vitamins such as B6. Such nutrients are essential for the synthesis of male sex hormones. They also contain essential fatty acids that are also necessary for the production of all steroid hormones.

The effects of celery as an aphrodisiac are disputed, but there is absolutely no harm in including a bit celery in the diet. It is believed to contain an androgen like compound that helps with arousal and performance. Moreover, it is also believed to contain pheromones like substances that bring about arousal in females as well.

These may not seem like the most inviting of foods, but eggs are rich in many nutrients. Egg whites are the most bioavailable form of proteins available on earth and they help build up immunity as well. Egg yolks are rich in essential fatty acids, which are required for the synthesis of steroid hormones.

Moreover, eggs also contain vitamins B5 and B6, which are essential for sexual arousal and performance. Consuming raw chicken eggs is considered highly beneficial for libido.
